Bridal shoot - Town Wedding

Veil made by me.

Another day, another bridal shoot to show you. We shot these in the small town on Bungay in Norfolk which has a road of beautiful coloured houses where we shot most of these.

I was inspired by pictures of huge over the top veils I'd found whilst researching bridal looks and not really knowing where I might be able to get my hands on one I thought I'd have a go at making one. I borrowed a glue gun, bought some tulle and voila! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It was a rather cold day and (similar to Jasmine's cardigan in the country photos) I had lent Hannah my faux fur coat to keep warm, loved how it looked so ended up leaving it on for the majority of the shots. I lent her my wedding rings to complete the look.

I haven't styled men before so that was new to me. The suit was kindly lent to me by John Field Formal Hire in Norwich. I decided on a dark grey as I knew Shahmir already had a black suit of his own and I wanted something different. I also borrowed a pink tie but in the end stuck with the silver for these shots. The cane added a little over the top flourish!

Bridal shoot: Country Wedding

Models: Hannah (Bride), Jasmine (Bridesmaid) and Shahmir (Groom)
Hair: Sheree Greenway @ Empire Hair Artistry
Make up: Sheree Greenway and Camilla Felgate

I actually want to squeal with joy as I am so over the moon with these photos. By far some of the most 'me' photos I've styled. I honestly believe I would adore them even if I had nothing to do with them. I've admired Camilla's work for a while now so to have these amazing photos to add to my portfolio is fantastic. The girl is a genius!

The Bride's look in this set of photos is rather special to me as the dress is my Mum's wedding dress from some 30 years ago! The zip had broken but I rather like the bit of open back you can see in the above photo. Accessorised with vintage clip on earrings, a bow I made myself and a gorgeous natural/boho bouquet. Obviously, as were in a field, heels weren't an option but I actually really like the unusual choice of footwear in these shots.

The Bridesmaid's look was almost accidental. I chose the dress, then Jasmine was wearing this cardigan my friend had brought along under her coat just to keep warm but the colour looked so fantastic we decided to keep it. The boots were a necessity and the orchids in her hair had fallen off the bouquet much earlier in the day and were the perfect finishing touch (thanks for the suggestion Steph!)

Our lovely groom wore his own suit and a simple buttonhole made to match the bouquet.

Stay tuned for the 'Town Wedding' look. Coming soon!!

The Lingerie Parlour Photoshoot.

You may remember that at the beginning of last month I organised a photoshoot for the promotion of a new online shop called 'The Lingerie Parlour'. TLP is owned by the lovely Leah Loverich and she came to me to ask is I'd help her get some beautiful pictures to use on the website.
One of the models, my friend Steph, kindly lent us her house as the location and we spent ages getting the bedroom just right (including me bringing over my own bedside table and telephone!)
Leah brought along 50+ pieces of beautiful slips, bed jackets and night gowns.

I'm so thrilled with the photos and if you see anything you like the look of The Lingerie Parlour will be open very soon!

'Imperfect' Behind the Scenes

Just a very small portion of the stuff needed to style this shoot. I had a car full!

Due to the photos from this shoot *hopefully* being published in a magazine mid November I've not seen the final edits yet. But we have been allowed to show some behind the scenes taken by our super talented make up artist for this shoot, Patricia of ArtLook 4U, who also happens to be pretty handy with a camera as well as a set of make up brushes!

As you can tell from these shots, we weren't in the most glamorous of locations and it was pretty cold - you'll also see some of us were braver than others when it came to wrapping up (I took the faux fur option!)
We had a fantastic crew for this shoot and I hope to work with them all again in the not too distant future.

Photographer/Art Director: Adrian Farr
Models: Ell Davis and Elle Harris
MUA: Patricia of ArtLook 4U
Hair stylist: Missy Vintage
Videographer: James Clayden
Assistants: Amy, Katie and Sam

Poor Elle was so cold during this scene and having my cold hands down her skirt didn't help!

James the videographer was slightly braver than me wearing a short sleeved shirt.

All hands on deck to take out million of hair pins.
Amy showing Ell her final make up look.

Watch this space for the final shots next month!

The Lingerie Parlour shoot - Behind the Scenes

I was recently contacted by Leah, someone I had only met once before but had kept in contact with thanks to the wonder of Facebook, who wanted to know whether I would put a photoshoot together for her. She is opening an online vintage lingerie shop called 'The Lingerie Parlour' and wanted some beautiful photos to use for the promotion. After seeing the moodboard she'd compiled (below) I was so excited to get involved.

My friend Steph agreed to be one of the models and also kindly lent us her beautiful house as the location. The other models were Heather (who I've had the pleasure of working with many times), Hannah (whose modelling pictures I've admired for ages thanks to friends of friends and the wonder of Facebook) and Demi (whom I had met at Norwich Fashion Week when she walked in a fashion show I was helping to organise but had never shot with before).

Leah brought with her about 50 pieces including slips, petticoats, bed jackets, capes and dressing gowns. There was even a pretty special Christian Dior floor length nightie with matching gown. Teamed with pearls, diamonds and pretty ribbons all four models looked gorgeous.

Steph's bedroom is beautiful, after a lot of work from the pair of us - it used to be orange, and we filled it with beautiful bits and pieces from both our houses (and a few bits from her Mum!) We even managed to get her super cute cat in some of the shots.

The prep begins...

For the hair we had the very talented Laura Hughes. It was a pleasure to work with Laura after seeing lots of her work thanks to Facebook.

Our make up artist for the day was Kerry (aka Missy Vintage) who I have worked with on many shoots and is a brilliant make up artist (and hair stylist and photographer too actually!)

And last, but by no means least, was our wonderful photographer Stephen Taber. I had provided outfits for the model on a shoot of his about a year ago but was unable to attend the shoot so we'd never actually met. Stephen was a brilliant guy to have around on a shoot like this and put all the girls at ease. He was also super accommodating in terms of me directing the shoot, setting up his laptop so I could see the photos as he took them. I have seen a few of the photos already and I'm so happy and so excited to share them. Watch this space!

Boudoir Shoot

Photographer: Mui Tsun
MUA: Claire Barber
Model and Hair: Stephanie

My good friend Steph did a boudoir shoot recently. She has very kindly has allowed me to use her pictures on my blog as I'd helped her style her outfits. The lingerie mainly came from Ann Summers, with a vintage sequin shrug of mine and some jewellery of hers.
We shot at the photographers amazing house in the countryside where I've been twice before, once for a boudoir shoot of my own and once for a photoshoot my daughter did.
